Currently, there is
little information or knowledge on assessing arts organizations and even
less information on assessing arts education programs. Arts programs in general are
considered to be very subjective; therefore, creating an evaluation plan
to assess subjective material in a way that can be analyzed and
interpreted can be daunting at first. The purpose of this
research project is to provide an assessment plan to determine the
effectiveness of communication and educational outreach of current
educational programs in orchestras.
It is necessary to assess how these programs are doing in order that
program revisions can be made to meet the needs of the constituents of
the department (families, teachers, students, orchestra members, and the
entire orchestra staff). |
